By in Design, Web/Digital

A project I worked on a few quarters ago relating to sustainable building in Savannah Georgia was featured on the Emergent Structures blog. This update is part of a multi-post feature that will be coming to the blog over the coming weeks.

Please visit the EMERGENT STRUCTURES BLOG for the full project post.

small Website Update (about time huh)

By in Other

Whoa, I actually made an update to my website. It’s a small one, but any progress is progress none the less. Look for more projects in the near future once the quarter finishes out and things calm down a little bit.

Head on over to the site to check it out. Let me know what you think.

My Work In Poetter Hall

By in Design

I was recently chosen to showcase some of the work that I prepared for my MFA 45 hour review in Poetter Hall (the graphic design building here at SCAD). I didn’t get to hang everything up, but it was a weird experience seeing most of my last years work all hanging next to each other.

below are some poor quality iPhone picks I snapped from the shawcase

Daily VisualsBySteve: Narrative Animation

By in Daily VisualsBySteve

I am working on putting together a narrative flash animation that will focus on a quote that I have always been particularly fond of. The quote is:

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery-celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Goddard said: ”It’s not where you take things from- it’s where you take them to.”

It was originally written by Jim Jarmusch. I’m hoping that this whole topic can filter into my upcoming thesis which will focus on plagiarism and appropriation (cross fingers).

Brand New Classroom Feature

By in Other

I was lucky enough to have my Aurora Film Festival identity featured on the Brand New Classroom site this morning. It has been great to see what people outside of the classroom think of my work as well as how they perceive it.

Compulsive Hoarding Website

By in Web/Digital

I finished up my Compulsive Hoarding Campaign last semester with a comprehensive website for Hoarding Awareness Association. I’m not exactly sure where it fits into my portfolio at the moment, so I thought that I would share it here.

This site was a gave me some good experience into the way that HTML and CSS work towards styling websites. Because the way that I was tough (with Photoshop slices galore) is horribly out of date. So it was good to finally be doing things the right way.

Take  a look at it and let me know what you think (comments are working on the blog now).

Blog Gets Overhauled

By in Other

Both my blog and my indexhibit have recently undergone a recent overhaul to form a more cohesive look. Along with this update comes a higher level of usability and some new projects posts. Let me know if you have any suggestions or find any major bugs. I’m always open to constructive criticism.

I hope to stay on top of both my website and my blog in the future, so stay tuned.
