On The Verge Of A Big Decision

By in Other

So I am coming to the end of a long process. I had recently applied to several graduate schools earlier this year with intensions to continue my education in design. I applied to some schools that were way out of my league and some schools that I was much more comfortable with getting accepted to. When the results came back I became confronted with a huge decision.

Currently I am between two schools that have very different programs and are located at very different places in the US.

California College of the Arts is located in San Francisco. They have accepted me into their MFA-design program which has a very conceptual approach to the theory of design. It focuses on the global impact of design and encourages the students to explore things that are out of their comfort zone. The program, as with any MFA program, is very intense gives you all the tools you need to be a very well informed designer and thinker in many different industries.

Savannah College of Art and Design offers an MFA- Graphic Design which varies from the program at CCA because it has a more core focus on the graphic design medium. Though I would have the oppertunitiy to work with students within many different majors. I believe the program at SCAD is a more paralled to the style of work that I currently do. Also because of the location SCAD has a much lower cost of living when compared to CCA.

I have about a week and a half to make a finalized decision, and I am beginning to freak out at the weight of such a huge decision.
